Naruto Hand-Sign
Naruto Hand Signs
Throughout the Naruto series there is many unique hand signs that are used to perform jutsu’s you see in the show. They are mostly all hand signs from the Chinese Zodiac. Each hand sign represents a different animal / organism. learning all the hand signs may take awhile but some people have done it even though it really doesn’t have a use. I guess it’s just used for plain fun.
Rat Hand Sign ( ne ) - the Rat hand sign is symbolistic because it usually means spirit, wit, alertness, delicacy, flexibility and vitality. The Rat hand sign is used mostly in Fire Jutsu techniques like Fire Element; Balsam Spread Fire and in shadow techniques. The Nara Clan is most famous for using this hand sign with their shadow techniques.
Ox Hand Sign ( Ushi ) - The Ox hand sign is symbolistic for being simple, honest, and straightforward. the Ox hand sign is most famously used in Water jutsus in the Naruto series. a good example of a Technique that uses the hand sign is Water Element; Water Vortex Jutsu.
Tiger Hand Sign ( Tora ) - The Tiger hand sign is symbolic for being brave, cruel, forceful and terrifying, are the symbol of power and lordliness. Sounds exactly like the description of the Uchiha clan in the naruto series. It matches their jutsu type too. They’re Fire Elemental and Fire techniques almost always use the Tiger Seal / hand sign. A good example would be the Fire Element; Grand Fireball Jutsu.
Rabbit / Hare hand sign ( u ) - The Rabbit hand sign is symbolistic for hope. people born under this Zodiac sign are usually gentle, sensitive, modest, and merciful and have strong memories. The Rabbit hand sign is used in plenty of jutsu’s ranging from quite a few different elements.
Dragon hand sign ( Tatsu ) - Probably the most popular Zodiac animal in China. the Dragon is symbolic for being authority, dignity, honor, success, luck, and having capacity. The Dragon hand sign is used in quite a few elements. some excellent Techniques that use it are the Dragon Flame Jutsu.
Snake hand sign ( mi ) -The snake is symbolic for the meanings of malevolence, cattiness and mystery, as well as acumen, divination and the ability to distinguish herbs. I’d say perfect for a Healer. The snake is often used in Earth Elemental jutsu’s.
Horse hand sign ( Uma ) - The Horse sign is symbolic for energetic, bright, warm-hearted, intelligent and able. Earth Element; Earth Dragon Missile is a good example of a jutsu that uses the horse hand sign. The horse really doesn’t have a specific elemental use. It’s a all around hand sign.
Ram hand sign ( Hitsuji ) - The Ram hand sign is symbolic for being tender, polite, filial, clever, and kind-hearted. Chidori Level 2 is the perfect jutsu example of what the ram hand sign can be used in.
Monkey hand sign ( Saru ) - The monkey is symbolic for being lively, flexible, and versatile. ( Probably where the name Sarutobi comes from in naruto.) A good example of a jutsu that uses the monkey hand sign would be Fire Element; Blazing Fireball Jutsu. the monkey hand sign is a all around hand sign.
Rooster hand sign ( Tori ) - The Rooster is symbolic for being honest, bright, communicative, ambitious and warm-hearted. The Rooster hand sign is also used in Chidori Level 2. Other then that its rarely used as much as the others but still common none the less.
Dog Hand sign ( Inu ) - The Dog is symbolic for being fortune, faithful, courageous, dexterous, smart and warm-hearted. Chidori Level 3 is a good example of a Jutsu that uses the Dog hand sign. The dog hand sign is pretty common.
Boar hand sign ( I ) - The Boar is symbolic for being honest and frank. pretty common hand sign in transformation and clone jutsus. A excellent example would be Ninja Clone Jutsu. like most hand signs this one is pretty common in all types of jutsu.
